PenMoment was contracted as a hybrid social platform merging the high-tempo video discovery of TikTok with the visual profile feeds of Instagram. The core engineering hurdle was native bilingual layout support: the app is built primarily for the Arabic market with full Right-to-Left (RTL) text orientation while simultaneously accommodating Left-to-Right (LTR) languages without breaking widget alignment, gesture directions, or icon mirrors.

Working alongside a team of frontend developers, I translated dense Figma design systems into reusable, pixel-accurate Flutter components over a three-month contract. We built vertical full-screen video reels, dynamic comment sheets, creator profiles, and media grid explorers. Special attention went into custom typography handling for Arabic fonts, ensuring baseline alignments and ligature rendering stayed razor-sharp.

To keep media consumption feeling instantaneous on mobile hardware, we engineered smart video player prefetching, memory-efficient image caching, and isolated widget rebuild scopes. Media scrubbing, audio sync, and interactive double-tap animations all run at a solid 60fps across both iOS and Android.
